Atlanta Finland Society, Inc. (AFS) is a federally recognized non-profit 501(c)(3). The purpose of the organization is to help its members--adults and children--of Finnish heritage, as well as others interested in Finland, to learn, maintain, and enjoy the Finnish language, traditions, customs, history and cultural heritage. The organization is located in the Atlanta, Georgia. Our official languages are Finnish and English.
In addition to traditional festivities such as Vappu (Finnish Labor Day) and Juhannus (Midsummer), Atlanta Finland Society (AFS) will strive to promote other activities of interest such as culture (theater, concerts etc.) as well as sports.
One of the great benefits Atlanta Finland Society (AFS) brings to Finnish families is the Atlantan Suomi-koulu (Finnish School). The school provides Finnish education to primarily to children who have at least one Finnish speaking parent.
